All good things must come to an end. That includes Windows 7. After running for a decade, from January 14th 2020, Microsoft will stop providing security updates or support for devices running Windows 7.
What happens if I continue to use Windows 7?
If you decide to ignore our advice and continue to use Windows 7 after January 2020, we recommend that you ensure you have a good backup strategy in place. With your device being more vulnerable to viruses and Microsoft unlikely to offer support should you have any issues with your device, having regular backups of your data becomes increasingly important.
Why should I upgrade to Windows 10?
Security: Windows 7 will continue to work, Cyber threat are becoming increasingly more complex and with no patches being released for any new viruses or security problems your devices will become progressively vulnerable to emerging threats. With 39% of devices thought to still be using Windows 7, this will be an attractive area for Cyber Criminals to target!
